Ginger-Mint Cooler

This refreshing twist on green tea takes a bit of time to make, but its extraordinarily crisp taste is worth the effort. Recipe created by Tony Abou-Ganim, Modern Mixologist.

Serves: 6

Ingredients

5 cups water
1 cup peeled, sliced fresh ginger
4 green tea bags
1 bunch fresh mint
24 packets Equal® sweetener or 1 cup Equal® Granular sweetener (Spoonful)
1 cup orange juice
1/2 cup lemonade

Preparation

  • Put water and ginger in a large sauce pan and bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 10 minutes.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Add green tea bags and 10 mint sprigs and let mixture sit for 8 minutes.
  • Remove tea bags and pour mixture through a strainer to remove mint and ginger.
  • Stir in Equal sweetener and allow to cool to room temperature.
  • Add orange juice and lemonade and refrigerate for 1 hour.
  • Serve in ice-filled glasses with a sprig of fresh mint.
