Iced Tea Tips

Iced Tea Tips

Americans drink hundreds of millions of gallons of iced tea each year. Yet most don't know the best way to make it at home. The next time friends drop by on a summer day, follow our iced tea tips to make them a refreshing drink that'll really stand out.

Good iced tea starts with good tea, period. So take a peek at our Hot Tea Tips before attempting iced tea for the first time.

To make a quart of iced tea:

Pour one cup of boiling water over two tablespoons of loose tea (or six teabags).

Brew for about five minutes (depending on the type of tea you're using and personal taste).

Pour the concentrated tea through a strainer into a quart pitcher filled with ice. Stir and add cold water to taste.

Serve immediately over ice. Garnish with lemon and sweeten to taste (with Equal, of course!). Or add flavor and sweetness in one step with Equal Lemon or Peach Flavored Sweetener.

Discard any unused tea after a few hours-fresh iced tea spoils quickly.
